Jan is a relationship builder who utilizes her many connections  and attention to detail to consummate the perfect deal. With more than 25 years of experience working as a teacher, executive recruiter, recruiting manager and sales manager, Jan thrives working side-by-side with families, business owners, investors and non-profit organizations. In 2002 she founded Richards Properties, Inc. bringing unparalleled insight into Charlotte’s neighborhoods, schools and real estate trends. Jan’s connections reach deep and include associations with city, state and local officials.

Fiercely dedicated to providing exceptional service, Jan is a Strategic Pricing Specialist (SPS®), Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR®), a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR®) and the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors (CRCBR). She is deeply involved in the Charlotte community having served two terms on the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board.  She serves as a board member of the Charlotte South Rotary and a member of Women of Vision.

A native of Boston, Jan has called Charlotte home for more years than she can remember. She frequently visits her family home in Cape Cod and travels to Boston and Newport Beach to visit her daughters and family. When Jan is not helping her clients she enjoys cooking, golf, politics and travel. Jan earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Denver and her master’s degree from University of North Carolina Charlotte.  704.617.8000
